Research in the department of Applied Mathematics, faculty of EEMCS
The focus of research in the department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Twente can best be characterized as Engineering Mathematics. This means that most research is carried out in the niche areas of different engineering disciplines which need original mathematical contribution for real breakthroughs.
Most of the research is supported by external funding, which includes Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research, Technological Foundation STW, European Community Programs, Financial Institutions and Industries. Despite diverse sources of support, the goal remains fundamental research on mathematics problems arising in different engineering disciplines.
New research results may appear in our Memoranda series, the internal reports of Applied Mathematics.
