Sid Visser is a PhD-student at the chair Applied Analysis and Mathematical Physics at the department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Twente.

His research focuses on modeling neural activity in the brain to study seizures of patients with epilepsy using both large-scale simulations of single neurons and bifurcation analysis of lumped models. He cooperates with the clinical neurophysiologists at the Medisch Spectrum Twente hospital as well as The University of Chicago's department of Pediatrics.
