Abstract
We consider evolutionary systems that are driven by functionals, i.e. the vector field is given in terms of the differential of an energy or an entropy, like in Hamiltonian systems or in gradients flows. In multiscale systems one has a family of microsystems with a small parameter and wants to describe the limits of the solutions by a simplified macrosystem. We discuss how the static concept of Gamma convergence for functionals can be used to obtain similar results for evolutionary systems.
