Research

The distinctive aspect of research in the AACS program is the thorough integration of mathematical modeling, applied analysis and numerical methods.

We consider integration of these three areas essential for our our role in multi- disciplinary research. Research areas are: wave phenomena, turbulence, aerodynamics, neuroscience, plankton dynamics. In multi-disciplinary collaborations, our focus is on mathematical modeling and abstraction.

A recurring theme in our work is the development of computational models that are consistent with the underlying physical principles and mathematical structures and properties.

This opens up new capabilities for accurate predictions of systems of realistic complexity that are of relevance in a multitude of application areas. This general approach structures our long-term research in applied and numerical analysis.
