Commentaar bij (zgn.) "Supervulkaan gaat uitbarsten" (onder Bokhove).
"Rekenrijk" de beste!
Basisschool rekenmethode "Rekenrijk", met Joop Bokhove als auteur van het eerste uur, komt met vlag en wimpel als beste uit de bus. Zie CITO-peiling PPON-rapport, pp. 184-187. Rekenrijk combineert realistisch rekenen met traditioneel rekenen en dus veel oefenen. Het merendeel van Rekenrijk's auteurs doorliep de aloude kweekschool met gezamenlijk tientallen jaren aan leservaring op de basisschool. ("De methode Reken Zeker [daarentegen] combineert het beste uit de twee werelden van traditioneel rekenen en realistisch rekenen". Frappant is dat ze daarbij dankbaar leentje-buur spelen bij de beste methode "to date" (Rekenrijk) -zonder bronvermelding? Rekenrijk staat al 2 peilingen bovenaan. Reken Zeker is nog nooit getest.) Primary school maths method "Rekenrijk", with Joop Bokhove as one of the first authors, is the best.

Bore Soliton Splash with Zweers & Thornton Sept. 2010 (speech):
Two solitons are generated by opening sluice gate; front one breaks into a bore, and crashes at end into linearly converging closed narrows.
Bore reflects, draws a trough so unbroken 2nd soliton crashes: yields 3-4m vertical jet ...
but only when water levels in canal & sluice gate are finely tuned; 41 vs. 90cm.
